A promotional Illustration I did for the Gnarwhal Studios website and the Humans Vs Zombies Rebranding. for those of you who don’t know, Humans vs Zombies is a hugely popular “big game” that is played accross college campus’s around the world. It’s essentially a giant game of zombie tag with some additional rules and organization.

Type and design was handled by the talented Ade’ Hogue

Gnarwhal Studios just launched a kickstarter for their new game: Slap .45!  I also did the art for that project as well.

A few months ago I was lucky enough to get to work with Gnarwhal Studios (Creators of Humans vs Zombies) and Max Temkin (creator of Cards Against Humanity) on a new game called Slap .45! It’s a western themed slap based reaction card game. We just launched our KICKSTARTER. If It’s not to much trouble we would really appreciate your support. I did all of the illustration for Slap 45 and the super talented Ade’ Hogue handled all of the graphic design for the final game (and totally fucking killed it).

These illustrations are for the head quarters cards! They were done under a pretty intense time pressure. At a certain point I just had to stop polishing. Really happy with how the Railroad crew turned out though.

These guys are the Comanche, last of the seven factions in Slap .45. I’ve also included the faction grave stones which are on the back of all of the gang member cards.

These are 12 of the 42 characters I did for Slap .45. They are the Black Hat Outlaws and the Lone Star Sheriffs, two of the seven factions in the game.

These illustrations were made for the Shoot out cards. Due to gameplay reasons only 4 of the images appear in the final version of the game. In playtests we found that having flavor imagery hurt people’s ability to recognize the card type immediately and for game about reacting quickly this was obviously a problem. Still had a great time creating all of them though!

Been a while!

Ive been working on a bunch of cool projects recently, hopefully I will be able to post some of those soon and give everybody a life update. For now I will just drop these horse studies ive been doing. I do one or two as a warm up every day. It’s been a good time.
